August 12 - 4TH ANNUAL SARATOGA RACE TRACK DAY.  Save the date of Thursday August 12 for a fun day in the picnic area at the Saratoga Race Track.  If you are still working take this day off for a mental health day. Bring your lawn chair, relax and we will all go home as winners.  More info to follow.

July 29- Jeff Gonzales
Guitarist, singer and songwriter Jeff Gonzales is a veteran
fingerpricker who brings year of playing to his program. His solo
acoustic show includes originals, ragtime blues, bluegrass, folk, old
time tunes and sing alongs, Jeff spent 10 years with the duo Not
Necessarily the Blues, and 8 years with his own electric trio. Jeff
has shared the stage with Greg Brown, David Grissman, Peter, Paul
& Mary, Livingston Taylor and many more.
August 5- 2 Broads with Alotta Sound
Quency Rene (Q), vocalist, and Diane Geddes, keyboard, have been
joyously collaborating for the past 12 years. The pair delights in
presenting music from all eras, in styles ranging through Jazz, Blues,
Country, Pop, Latin and beyond. Their partnership has also generated
some exciting original tunes that will be released on CD before year's
end. Variety is the hallmark of their fun-filled ecletic-electric
performances.
August 12- Pipe Kings
The Pipe Kings band comprises an eclectic mix of 9-5 professionals who
return to their musical roots evenings and weekends. They play at many
local venues and can be heard regularly this summer at John Lucs on
Caroline St. in Saratoga. The group features Rich Colletti on bass, Gary
Leduke on keyboard, Steve Thompson on guitar and Erik Pravel on
percussion. Alto sax player Joe Vellano of Vellano Brothers Inc. sponsors
our entire Summer Concerts at the Crossings series.
August 19- Holly McCormack
Originally from Colonie, Holly McCormack's performances and studies
have taken her to the Midwest, East Coast and Europe. At home in both
opera and musical theater, Holly's roles have included Susanna in the
Marriage of Figaro, Maria in West Side Story, Daisy Mae in L'il Abner. As
an apprentice with Chicago Opera, Theater, she covered the lead role of
the Governess in The Turn of the Screw. She has performed extensively
in recital, and especially enjoys collaborating with fellow artists. Most
recently in NY, Holly has performed with classical and flamenco
guitarist, Christopher Gotzenberg, and sang in performance for the
Riedel Dance Theater. Holly will perform a solo concert tonight with a
mixture of operatic favorites and musical theater songs.
August 26- Kidz Theater
Kidz Theater is a professional training ground for especially talented
young performers in New York City. Productions feature Broadway
veterans as well as those with exceptional raw talent, and many of our
young performers have gone on to Broadway or other professional
productions within a few months of performing with Kidz Theater. Kidz
Theater strives to cast each production with performers who are not only
talented but kind, creative, professional, passionate, energetic,
diverse and dedicated to theater and performance

Powers Park Concert Series
Begins July 10, 2010

Powers Park was once the venue of weekend activities around the turn of the 20th Century. Since 2004, the crowds at the historic city park have returned every Saturday evening to see the best in local entertainment on the Neil Kelleher Stage at Powers Park.

Over the past 6 seasons, the series has become one of the city of Troy’s signature events. Showcasing some of the finest entertainers the Capital District has to offer, the concert series has become one of the most anticipated showcase events the city has to offer. With a full array of festival foods and great music, the series has become a mainstay of the community, as well as the entire city.

Weekly 50/50 raffles, which benefit many charitable cause’s have greatly enhanced organizations including, the Uncle Sam Parade, Lansingburgh Boys & Girls Club, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The shows are presented by, the City of Troy & Wellcare. They are supported in part by, Whitney Young Health, Snowman Ice Cream, Northeast Shuttle, Beverage Barn, Trader Ed's, Lansing Laundry, Troy UFA, Friends of 112th St., Barrett Blacktopping, and New Dawg in Town. Media sponsors include, B95.5FM, and the Troy Record.
